We Are Here!

We made it to London last night. Our flight was easy and not so long. The airplane wasn't even half full...so we had lots of room to stretch out. I was inspired by my friend Rich to buy an airplane power cord for my laptop, so I was able to get some work done. A VERY LITTLE BIT of work. Angela and I enjoyed the 7 hours of together time. We watched some t.v. and picked on each other.

We got to our hotel at around 11:30pm London time (5:30pm Franklin time). Angela was able to get to sleep pretty quickly. Me...not so much. I finally was able to go to sleep around 4am, which was really perfect for my 6:45 wake up call. Fun times.

No sleep...but I still couldn't be happier or more full of joy. We are now at Abbey Road getting ready for the session. The symphony players are arriving and set up as we speak. It was surreal to walk through the halls of this place...and see all of the pictures hanging on the wall of all the amazing musicians who have recorded here...and all of the AMAZING movie music recorded here. All of the Star Wars posters are hanging on the wall...and Lord of the Rings...and the list goes on. I stopped and had a moment in front of the "The Empire Strikes Back" poster. Nerd much?

Here are some pics we took this morning...

Ang and me in front of Abbey Road Studio...

Producer Brown Bannister...

Brown, Carl Marsh (the orchestrator) and me going through arrangements. This is the first time I cried today. He played through two arrangements I hadn't yet heard. I flipped out and fell apart right there. More of that to come, I'm sure.

Thank you so much for your prayers for us for this trip. I will be back with an update later. Blessings to you today...

I'm going to be much less spiritual here than everyone else... Where Star Wars was recorded??? You just go ahead and nerd it up. It's my 7 y/o dd's fave movie and she just played the theme for piano recital last week. She was good, too, if I may brag for a moment.
Y'all have a great time and bask (sp?) in God's goodness and provision. He's gonna WOW you this week!

I am so stinkin' proud for you. You will have so many "pinch me" moments!!! Watching you sing on Thurs, night, I was filled with such awareness of all God has called you to.

What a ride, Travis! What an amazing ride!

Stand in awe.

Love you both much!

Praise God you had a great flight over! You look rested even though you haven't slept much and I will pray you get much needed sleep tonight.
My son watched the Star Wars trilogy last night. He may be 17 but he is old school at heart. Have a blast and tell Angela hello and to keep picking on you! hehe

That is so cool!
I hope you and Angela have a wonderful time in London. Enjoy the time with each other,
kid-less.
I know you love them dearly and miss them, but that time together will be so precious to you.
You gotta have it. (Like you don't already know that!)

Have fun!!

I hope you have the best time! If you are hungry and you pass by a Bella Italia restaurant, it's a good one. Curt and I ate in one in every big city we visited. The Texas Embassy is good too once you get homesick for American food. Have a blast!

Travis,

I just found my way to your blog through the LPM blog:) However, I have attended Living Proof Live events for the past 6 years and have come to appreciate your ministry more than you know. My sister is an ASU grad, so Boone is a second home to me, a "Raleigh girl."

Anyway, congratulations on such an exciting trip and opportunity. I loved the pictures- Thanks for sharing it with us! Praying God's blessings on you!

In Him,
Tara

How cool is this!!!! I would be walking around with my mouth on the floor the whole time...and my man, would be taking pictures in front of ALL the Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and any other movie he makes me watch with him... do you feel like a kid in a candy shop?

Praying that you all adjust to the time change and are able to rest well tonight....

Oh, I am so jealous! Nerd it up all you want. The history that flows through the halls of Abbey Road is amazing. What normal music loving human being would not be in awe of what has happened and now just think you are a part of that history. Now we can say yeah, Travis Cottrell recorded at Abbey Road. Just goes to show how awesome your ministry is and and it blesses so many people.

Hope you and Angela have a wonderful time. Take care. Praying for rest, productive time and rejuvenation.

Take care.

Amanda

Totally awesome! Sounds like an amazing trip. Can't wait to hear it! I'm being completely selfish in hoping that you will be in Branson this weekend for Women of Joy to lead us in worship! I can't imagine what this must be like for your family with all the engagements, but God is blessing every step you take, as I’m sure He will continue to do for all that you’re doing to glorify His Holy Name!

Travis, you really bless my heart. Thank you for sharing with us. You are 'neat much' not nerd much'. God's rich and abundant blessings on you and Angela on this adventure.

Soak it up--time to praise and work and play with your beautiful Angela!

Praying for rest tonight...for favor over every single piece of the project...for blessing over your children.

See you in CS in 2 1/2 weeks! Can't wait to be ushered before the LORD's presence with Beth and the team among thousands of sisters (and a few brave brothers) in Christ!!

I started off life high on the Beatles. OH MY. I have so many Beatle stories like pulling John Lennon's hair right out of his head. But, I ended up high on my LORD and music like Travis Cottrell and that's the best place in the world to be.
