A Quick Update and Thank You

Hello, friends!

I am alive and (sort of) well in Puerto Rico. Wow...I have read your messages and prayers on my blog, and Beth's blog...and have been overwhelmed by your encouragement. Thank you for your OUTPOURING of love extended to me and my sweet family.

I made it to Puerto Rico...and just finished a day of shooting. I am still not feeling up to par. A little feverish and some other nasty symptoms. I would love to feel better...but I know that God is working out His purposes in me serving Him while feeling this way...so I am HAPPY.

If you don't mind continuing to pray for me to survive another day and a half of filming, I would be grateful. And if by chance you happen to be in a church where this International Mission Board video plays in a few months, you can know that it's because of your prayers that I made it through. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

One bit of sad news for me...I have decided to postpone my concert at Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater, FL. I was SO TORN...and so sad to make that call. But it's such a great church, and I have been so energized by their worship pastor's encouragement and planning, I wanted to be there and be able to give it everything I have. So, we are in the process of trying to reschedule quickly. Calvary people - thank you for understanding.

Angela and the kids are doing well...as always, thanks for joining me in covering them in prayer while I am gone.

Tomorrow's footage will be significantly different than today's. Why, you ask? Oh, no reason, except for the fact that my FACE LOOKS LIKE I HAVE HELD IT TO THE SURFACE OF THE SUN. Uh...how about some sunscreen, Einstein??

I am going to hit the sack now. I will chat with you tomorrow. I might even try to upload a little video for you to see what it's like here.

Blessings to you...

TC

I have been praying for you and for Angela with the kids at home--I know what those days can be like!

Be sure and catch Square Pegs on youtube, just so you can say that you watched it again in PR :)

Praying for the rest of the taping and SO very glad you can get home sooner and rest up. I remember when we had a season where it seemed we caught everything--the kids too. And it was a good family time, but difficult, too. And we didn't have nearly the schedule y'all keep.

So from now on, you guys are getting continual good health prayers from the Smith family.

I will definately keep praying. I am sure the people in Clearwater will understand your decision. Enjoy Puerto Rico as much as you can!

Okay Travis,

You asked for it. You got it! I'm going to continue to cover you in prayer. I would have said enjoy the sun, but it looks like you got that one "down" a little too much! You could however send a little sun our way. It's pretty dreary here in St. Louie!!

May you feel the true Sonshine on your face tomorrow!

I'm glad you're feeling better. And yes, sunscreen is a great invention.

I am so encouraged by your attitude that you have even though you don't feel well.

We just got back from a cruise and my husband managed to burn on the first day and then he developed Bronchitis, so in the airplane on the way home he was coughing his head off, blowing his nose and his face and head were peeling. He looked like he had a disease! Poor guy.
Needless to say, people were steering clear of him! Of course, me sitting next to him applying hand sanitizer every five minutes probably didn't help much!

Wow, you probably didn't want to read all of that. Sorry!

Hope you get to feeling better soon,Frydaddy. :)

I've prayed for you off and on today, Travis. I know God hears our prayers and He will enable you to do what He has called you to do. This is the ministry that He has called you to in this season of your life and He will accomplish that which concerns you!
Hang in there!

Travis - so glad to hear you are "making it" and finding the blessing in it all.

Thank you for your ministry - no one leads me to the Throne Room like you! Can't wait to see you in San Antonio in August.

Prayers going out for you and your family.

I'll continue to pray for you and your family. Please enjoy a little sun for me. There's not much of it here in Indy!

So glad you are feeling better! I was hoping you would get a chance to enjoy the sunshine while you are there but not to the point of getting roasted! I will keep you in my prayers for healing and for safe travels back home.

Travis,
We are continuing to pray for you!!! Thank you for your kind words about our church (Calvary Baptist) and worship leader! Of course we are disappointed - but the most important thing is for you to be completely healed and well!! And, it will be a sweet, sweet time when you are able to reschedule
:-)

God bless you, your family and ministry.

It's our honor to pray for you right now especially!

You know, I can't help but think that your are living out the song/scripture "we bring the sacrifice of praise" right now.

I'm asking God to knock your socks off for praising Him when all you want to do is crawl back under the covers and sleep!!!!

Blessings

So glad to hear you are a little better. Prayers continue for your healing and for Angela and the kids while you are gone. May God give you energy to finish the project. It's raining and a little gloomy here in SC, so send a little sunshine our way.

This is just so cool! It felt so like being in "battle-mode" when Beth came on her blog and called us all to action! You and your family are so special to us and to the entire body of Christ. May you continue your recovery and grow stronger every day. Shalom.

Good grief, Travis...

I'm praying for you because I have the FLU!! It's nasty and I've been down for days!

I think, though, I could recover quicker if I were in Puerto Rico...suffering for Jesus! Because of course we have 3 inches of snow on the ground in Tennessee!!

Blesings,
Dori

Glad you are feeling better!

Just wanted to say thanks for working with the IMB on this! We are IMB peeps living overseas and it's neat to hear that people like you are doing cool things with the IMB. I probably will never get to see the video, but I'm sure it will turn out great!
