Go to 50 States: Check.

Hey, everybody. Checking in from Delaware. We are doing well. I slept until almost 10, eastern time. What? I can't believe it. So glad to wake up on my own and feel rested. For some reason, though, my voice is really tired today. Must have overtalked during our day off. Imagine that. Could also be the vast amounts of unhealthy food I ate yesterday, topped off with one of the most delicious pieces of red velvet cake I have ever eaten, last night at about 9pm. We stopped for a quick dessert in some little cafe in NYC. Had a great time laughing and eating. There was a man there who apparently has no fear of making any bodily sounds in a public place. We got to laughing so hard, I thought we were going to throw us out. And for some reason, I felt really codependent, and didn't want to laugh, because I didn't want the man to feel bad. Of course, it was his own choice to emit said sounds in a PUBLIC RESTAURANT. But still. My sincere desire to keep our tickledness on the down low only made us laugh more.

So Delaware is the last of the 50 states for me to visit. I can't really believe I have been across this whole country. I am so thankful for every second of ministry in every state that I have been privileged to be a part of. I have some favorite places...but I can say this: our country is beautiful. Every corner. Every mountain. Every city. Every countryside. Every flat land. Every shore.

From the mountains, to the prairies, to the oceans...

Nevermind.

Anyway, I am a thankful man this morning.

Here are some pics from our day off in the city:

These two guys keep us rolling. Ron and Rich. They are AMAZING.

Rich takes great pictures too, by the way.

It would be too easy to say that we were jumping for joy. So I won't.

Ate dinner here. It was good. And I PROMISE you that the Soup Nazi's apprentice works there.

Ummm, Trav, that sore throat you are getting is probably God getting you back for stopping at Dunkin's yesterday and being mean to Bethie! (She told on you on her post! LOL)

Seriously, dude, as a vocal coach, I feel the need to tell you this.... take care of your "instrument"... it's the only one you'll ever get! Drink lots of WATER.... don't talk too much today... Stay away from the sugar and junk food...

Praying for your voice. Praying for God to open all the pipes for a marvelous display of His splendor tonight.

PS Congratulations on a job well done--50 states and only God knows how many hearts have come to know Christ through your ministry and Beth's. Praise Jesus!

I love the pics and that cracks me up about the soup Nazi's. They just don't have our southern hospitality.

Travis, I know you're a guy, but please, more details. Beth's post is hilarious and I want to hear your side of the adventure. Y'all are so very blessed to have this group. I know you know that, but gosh, it gets a girl right here, ya know? Talk about koinonia.

My study group just watched the first installment of Stepping Up. I had no idea you were leading worship. What a wonderful treat. I raved so much about you, I think you'll see CD sales rising in a certain area of Arizona. Absolutely LOVE the Christmas CD. Especially can relate to the "Christmas emotion." I was in tears for much of the CD - in a good, worshipful and grateful way.

See? Details aren't so hard!
Blessings onya, dear bro. Praying for the throat, too.

I'm not praying for your voice, for I believe it is a gift, but I am praying for your selfish and I must admit, somewhat vengeful? attitude by Not Getting Dunkin Donuts for You Know Who. Made it worse by sending pics! Ouch! Zing! The least you could was pre-warn her you were going to stop! And I thought you were SOOOOO spiritual! LOL! Heard you made some serious Wardrobe Investments! Pics please- the fact that even Beth thought you had good taste, was saying something! Me and jennyhope were waiting for fashion pictures! Between Beth's fuzzy slippers, cute boots (which were made for walking) and stuff from Strawberry, well...such vain imaginations on my part! Buying your Christmas album off of i-tunes. LifeWay, if you can believe it, doesn't have your CD in yet! Has Dino, but not you! Zing! That's gotta hurt! Praying for all of you daily!

Get that voice in check, man. With you in all of our prayers, I have faith that the LORD will clear you up, and get those vocal chords in shape for the next stop on the tour.

I am loving keeping up with you through this blog, and seeing all these photos of the bunch along the way!

Have fun man, I'll be mentioning you and your 50-state achievement on the air today!

Wow, even Hawaii and Alaska, NICE!

I have been hungry for Dunkin Donuts ever since Beth's post. Just sayin.
You all have such a blast together. I want to hear about the fun new clothes you got! :)
I think it's so cool that you've been able to go to all 50 states. We went on a family road trip this summe and I got to see about 15 states - went as far as Nashville, Kentucky, Chicago - etc (I'm from Idaho). You are so right. This is an amazingly beautiful and diverse country. I love the rugged mountains and I love the beautiful plains. I am so hungry to see more.

Father in heaven, restore Travis' voice and let him sing praises to You tonight better than ever! Let Your Holy Spirit write on the hearts of the ones who are there using Travis and the praise team along with Beth and her mighty passion for Jesus. Thank You so much for giving them the strength and the talent to share Christ in all these states. Continue reaping a harvest from every seed You have planted through them. How humbled I am at Your Great Love for me and for all of these passionate pilgrims traveling through life serving You. Bless them, Lord. Bless them indeed. In Jesus Name. Amen.

"...keep our tickledness on the down low" keeps making me very tickled.

Lindsee said...

I love that you say "tickled", because I do to. And frankly, I get way too tickled at the most inappropriate times, also. And then of course, the laughter does anything but subside.

Glad y'all are having a fabulous time!

Love the pics!
