Another Favorite Hymn

Jesus! What a Friend For Sinners

Jesus! what a Friend for sinners!
Jesus! Lover of my soul;
Friends may fail me, foes assail me,
He, my Savior, makes me whole.

Hallelujah! what a Savior!
Hallelujah! what a Friend!
Saving, helping, keeping, loving,
He is with me to the end.

Jesus! what a Strength in weakness!
Let me hide myself in Him.
Tempted, tried, and sometimes failing,
He, my Strength, my victory wins.

Hallelujah! what a Savior!
Hallelujah! what a Friend!
Saving, helping, keeping, loving,
He is with me to the end.

Jesus! what a Help in sorrow!
While the billows over me roll,
Even when my heart is breaking,
He, my Comfort, helps my soul.

Hallelujah! what a Savior!
Hallelujah! what a Friend!
Saving, helping, keeping, loving,
He is with me to the end.

Jesus! what a Guide and Keeper!
While the tempest still is high,
Storms about me, night overtakes me,
He, my Pilot, hears my cry.

Hallelujah! what a Savior!
Hallelujah! what a Friend!
Saving, helping, keeping, loving,
He is with me to the end.

Jesus! I do now receive Him,
More than all in Him I find.
He hath granted me forgiveness,
I am His, and He is mine.

Hallelujah! what a Savior!
Hallelujah! what a Friend!
Saving, helping, keeping, loving,
He is with me to the end.

Another favorite of mine:(In the Cross)

Jesus, keep me near the cross,
There a precious fountain
Free to all, a healing stream
Flows from Calvary’s mountain.

Refrain
In the cross, in the cross,
Be my glory ever;
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

Verses 2 and 4 also.

And one more:(The Love of God)
The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell;
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin.

Refrain
O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints’ and angels’ song.

Dude, I love that hymn. i led it at the Village on June 1. The peeps were weeping. Have you heard the old song...not sure if its a hymn. Joe Shannon taught it to me. (not the new contemporary worship song) How Can I keep from Singing? Beautiful and haunting.

My life goes on in endless song
above earth's lamentations,
I hear the real, though far-off hymn
that hails a new creation.

Through all the tumult and the strife
I hear it's music ringing,
It sounds an echo in my soul.
How can I keep from singing?

While though the tempest loudly roars,
I hear the truth, it liveth.
And though the darkness 'round me close,
songs in the night it giveth.

No storm can shake my inmost calm,
while to that rock I'm clinging.
Since love is lord of heaven and earth
how can I keep from singing?

When tyrants tremble sick with fear
and hear their death knell ringing,
when friends rejoice both far and near
how can I keep from singing?

No storm can shake my inmost calm,
while to that rock I'm clinging.
Since love is lord of heaven and earth
how can I keep from singing?

My life goes on in endless song
above earth's lamentations,
I hear the real, though far-off hymn
How can I keep from singing?

it is GORGEOUS. i'll sing it for you sometime.

Not a hymn but a song I would LOVE to hear "Travis Style"

"Mercy Said No"

Love this song and would love to hear the unique sound you and the praise team would put on it...possibly at Deeper Still in Atlanta =)

I know, I know...but a girl can dream!

Hey Travis....I'm a lurker and not a blogger. You've been @ my church @ FBC Bentonville and have been a fan since. I have an OLD song that I grew up singing EVERY stinkin' year at my family reunion (and we STILL DO)!! It's a song called "Farther Along"...and honestly....it's a heartfelt cry as my parents have went on to be with the Lord...and the chorus rings in my soul:

Farther along we'll
know all about it

Farther along we'll
understand why

Cheer up my brother, live in the sunshine
We'll understand it
all by and by

We can never understand this life, but by and by....we WILL!! Praise be to God for His AMAZING GRACE!!!

Keep praising Him, Travis...and thanks for letting us praise Him with you!! Angie
