Checking In. And out.

Hey, friends. Hope you all are doing well. I have not heard any news about our little Joseph Wilbens. I am assuming because he lived pretty far north of Port Au Prince that he is OK. As soon as I hear for sure, I will let you know. I know we all are praying for Haiti generally, and for many people specifically. And I thank you for praying for Joseph, too. Lord, have mercy on these hurting people.

All is well in the Cottrell household. Kids are all good and Angela is too. I am heading to Houston this weekend to be a part of Beth's Scripture Siesta celebration, and to sing at church on Sunday. I will be dreaming about Papasito's tonight...counting the hours until lunch tomorrow. Yesssssss.

This will be my last post for the next 3 weeks. I am checking out for a little bit. When I come back, I will have some fun things to share. Thank you for being such a great community of friends to walk this journey with.

Hey there Travis I was suppose to be in Houston for the SMT celebration had all my reservations and everything was a go and I was up and about Thursday the 21st at 3:30 a.m. because my flight would be leaving at 7:00 a.m. and turned on my cell phone and had a message from a friend that was coming over to take care of my dog for the weekend and she bail out so to make a long story short I had to cancel everything hotel and rental car, airline reservation, then to top it all off my heart is just broken in 2 I looked so forward to this all yr and then to have everything in order then it all falls apart. So needless to say I am so so so so so so so so SAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But I know there will be a video and hopefully a download for us
Have a Blessed Weekend will miss you all.

Travis,
Thanks for the update on Joseph. I was at the Siesta Celebration and wanted to ask during the Q & A but was a little afraid of what the answer might be! I then was going to try to ask you afterwards, but a large crowd gathered quickly! Thanks so much for an awesome worship experience! Very special weekend! Be safe and have a great 3weeks!

And I'm sorry I intruppted you eating your cake on Friday night, but I just had to talk with you and tell you how much your music has blessed me and many in my Sunday School class. God has give you a tremendous gift and we're so glad you share it so willingly. Have a wonderful 3 weeks off - know you'll be missed here in blogland.

Just so you know...Sitting in the airport with you singing from my IPOD while you are like 7 seats away is kinda weird for me. I was at the gate first, so I didn't stalk you this time.

Praying for you & Angela checked out! Praying Isa 30:15,18 for you both! Thank you Travis for your words that sank deep. There was Something about hearing your voice, a Voice that has brought me much Comfort and Grace these past months through song. Loved what you said about God "wrecking" us in a good way. Love never allows any of us an ounce more of suffering unless it's to achieve the best of the beloved! I've been Miss-Much-Afraid most of my adult life and no more! God's Severe Mercy in having cancer has put me in touch with what I've been most afraid of. He's a Good God to me through people like you!

Hey Travis! Just another thank you for bringing yourself and your ipod to the Siesta Fiesta this weekend. It was so much amazing fun to worship our amazing God with everyone and fun to get to meet you too. : ) I think one of the things I loved about meeting you and Melissa (Fitz.) and Melanie (Big Mama) was how it just felt like I was just meeting and talking to NORMAL, REAL PEOPLE. Oh, how the distance between people we admire and ourselves distorts reality! Fun to have that distance gone and the reality back in check. Thanks so much for blessing us. Enjoy your bloggy break. : )

Hi, Travis
I wanted to add my thanks for gifting us with your music and leadership at the SMT Houston event.
What a blessing you are and what joy your gifts bring!
I know that God is working with you and through you. I was overjoyed to watch Him at work re: a mutual friend we have.
God has surely given you a servant's heart.
Much love

Thanks for the wonderful Worship time at the SMT celebration. What an awesome weekend for us all.

I wanted to also thank you and your wife for your collaberations on To the King and other songs. What an awesome pair the Lord has put together for His Glory.

I arrived home from the SMT weekend to the sad news that my best friend of 41 years had passed from breast cancer. I received such peace and comfort from your song, I Am Persuaded. Thanks for reminding us that nothing can separate us from HIS Love.

Have a wonderful vacation. Thanks for all you do!!

Happy Birthday! : ) Hope it was a blessed one. Just have to say THANK YOU (if you had any choice in the matter!) for making your performance tracks available for download. I used "In the first Light" at Christmas and am going to use "Victory in Jesus" for our women's retreat in a couple of weeks and CAN'T WAIT! It will be the perfect way to celebrate the victory God's going to give us. Yay! Thank you!!!

Hi Travis,
Ok, this is SO random, but i have to share my enthusiasm about it -- I am in rehearsals as part of the cast of the show "Joseph" at Sight and Sound. I was listening to the rehearsal tracks thinking "Man, Joseph sounds just like Travis Cottrell!" So I found out today that it is, in fact, you, and that is happiness to my soul because I have been so blessed by your music! I hope you get a chance to see the show~if you do, please come say hi to the cast! :)
Life & Peace,
~Jessica

Just letting you know I was thinking and praying for you and the family today.
Blessings, Peace and I pray for a confirmation in your heart about the things the Lord is directing you into and leading you away from. I thank you Lord for the gift you have given to us through Travis and his family. I pray that they will continue to grow in the grace and the knowledge of You and that they will be protected from the darts of the evil one. I pray for love to abound in their home and that the children will dwell together in unity. I ask for open communication between he and his wife and that they will lean hard into your love as they are a light and representation to those around them of your love for your church. Bless them and keep them in the name of Jesus.
