For Your Enjoyment While I Am Still Dealing With Re-Entry

Hey friends. I can't blog yet about this past weekend. I still have too massive of a worship hangover. Not to mention a host of other issues coming off of such a ginormous weekend.

So I will leave you with this for now. Enjoy (thanks, Adam).

Saturday Rehearsal

Day One of Rehearsals

Hey, friends. Hope you had a good Friday. We had a great day of rehearsals here at FBC Woodstock. I made a quick little video for you...complete with a low and tired voice at the end of the day.

Thanks for your prayers for us. I hope to see you Sunday!

Getting Close...

The clock is tick, tick, ticking away. I need to be learning words and focusing and probably even studying more than I am. But the sanguine in me is just about on happy overload. I'm so excited to see the many of you who have said you are coming to the taping this Sunday night. And friends and family are trickling in little by little today, tomorrow and Saturday. Woo hoo!

I got here yesterday, in time for a great rehearsal with the choir at FBC Woodstock last night. They are bringin' it. And I spent most of today relaxing, eating (at my favorite restaurant in the world, Pappasito's), and greeting friends as they made it in to Atlanta. I miss my sweet wife like crazy...she is not coming down until Friday night. When she is here, I will be able to settle down. Oh, who am I kidding? There will be very little settling down.

The crew loaded in today...lights and sound and band stuff. I was a little overwhelmed, so I didn't hang around too much for it. I tried to busy myself while I was at the church, taking care of the band and singers, and showing them around this amazing church. We actually got lost a couple of times. This place is BIG.

I am going to try and upload a video or two tomorrow...give you a glimpse of what we are doing to prepare for worship Sunday night. Gotta go for now. Happy Friday to you!

Travis

I'M! SO! EXCITED!

Happy Monday to you. I don't have ANYTHING to do this week, what with the recording event just 6 days away. No preparations to make, no rehearsing to do, no emails to send. So, because my time is so free, I'm all the more glad to be where I have to be tonight.

Driver Safety School.

Ahem.

A Quick Checking In

Hey, friends. Just checking in for a quick second. I am in the middle of a crazybusy two weeks. So much to do to get ready for the live recording next Sunday night at FBC Woodstock. I hope you can make it if you're close by.

Of course, even in this crazy busy time, you know what I am sitting here doing? Yes. And this is my conclusion: a bad mullet with a cowboy hat will guarantee you some FACETIME on American Idol.

Also: the guys are killing it tonight. Awesome. How about that NC dude, Anoop? Woah. KILLER VOICE. And the band director, Asa - awesome. And the guy whose wife passed away...he has a great voice. And Casey, who sang the Vanessa Carlton song was my favorite girl. Oh, and Lil Rounds. She was great, too.

Must. Turn. It. Off. and get some stuff done. Hope you are well.

Feelin' Fine in 2009

Hey, blog friends. I hope you all have had a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year's. We have had a great break. Our sleep clocks are about as regular as the weather this month. But we are doing well anyway. It's not going to be pretty those first couple of school days next week, though...

Angela is out tonight...gone to a church function with a couple of girlfriends. Lily Kate is spending the night with a friend. So it's just me and the boys. There has been much wallering (our word for wrestling), football, Hot Tamales, and strange body noises (them, not me). I finally wrestled them down for the night. And I was coming to my computer to work on music charts for my upcoming project (all of which are due to be finished by Monday). But my buddy Cameron took me to task for being a delinquent blogger. And I have been. But after the tour, my brain turned off. And by 'turned off' I mean TURNED OFF. But I am back into the world of people who do more than breathe and eat and grunt when they can't find the remote. I have been heavy into writing this week (songs, not blogs :-) ), which has been invigorating and fun. I am more energized by this upcoming project than any other project I have ever done. More details about that to come...

I was going to blog my "Best of 2008." But then I relized I have only seen about 3 movies (all kids' movies), bought about 4 CD's, and watched 3 TV shows all year. So I didn't feel very inspired to rank them. 2008 was a great year, though. And I will definitely have some thoughts to share about it...once I get these charts written.

Here are some Christmas pics from our travels...

The kids with my dad...they call him Cuz...

Angela with my sister-in-law Kathy, my sister Kathy (I know. 2 Kathy's. We are just glad their name isn't Darrell), and my sister Vickie...

My dad singing "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" with my sister Kathy playing...

Making cookies with my niece Molly...

And these are the cookies that the kids iced. Can you tell?

My brother David and sister Vickie...

My very own hot tamale...

Happy New Year!
