I know they say that a tomato is a fruit, but that just doesn't sit well with me.
Tomatoes sit well with me. But the fact that they are a fruit does not.
That's all I got today.

Yeah, disturbing. Apparently it is classified as a fruit b/c it has seeds. My "research" (translation: I googled it) tells me that if that is the case, then cucumbers and squash -- any "veggie" with seeds -- would be classified as a fruit. I'm going to work on forgetting that.
K, in my infinite dorkiness I'll answer even though it doesn't warrent comment. 1. It's seeds are inside so it's supposed to be a fruit. So "they" say. 2. It's Tennessee's state fruit. Embrace it, Travis. 3. I don't have a clue who "they" is. :P
I am passionate about Jesus, and about my family. And I LOVE my life as a worshipper of the Most High God. And I love my job...my calling...as a worship leader. I travel with Beth Moore and lead worship at her Living Proof Live conferences. It is an honor and a joy. I am crazy about the team I travel with, and the music we get to lift up to Jesus. I am also the Worship Pastor at Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, TN. I love the people of EBC, and am so grateful to be serving Jesus alongside them!

You're welcome.

Thank you for the random thought of the day.
It made me laugh out loud on this awfully, humid day in Houston.
This public service announcement was brought to you by the Make Tomatoes a Veggie Coalition... ;)
I lurve me some 'maters and I completely concur, Dr. Cottrell!
I agree!

The only tomato I like is Bob. You know, Bob & Larry? I'm not a big fan of them on my plate.
Blessings, C~
Fruit, vegetable, relative to deadly nightshade... who cares? They're just yummy!
Well, whether veggie or fruit just please keep'em out of the fridge!
To-may-toa, to-mah-toe. Fruit, Veggie. Who cares? Give me one right out of the garden, some bread and mayo and I'm fine!
Agreed. The tomato thing can be annoying, but how about this one:
If our knees bent the other way, what would a chair look like?
Uh huh, good one right?
However... tomatos actually exist and our knees will never bend the other way so it's very irrelevant.
My husband has "flair" on facebook that says:
If Bob is a tomato, and tomatoes are a fruit, he is so fired.

Travis:
Love this post - agree with you. My husband and I are at the beautiful gulf coast beach of Destin, FL this week.
What does that have to do with tomatoes? You know you're a true Southerner when...you take your tomatoes with you on vacation!!!
We actually brought 9 tomatoes with us from our garden! No way was I leaving those precious home-grown fresh tomatoes to ruin while we are away.
There is nothing better than a good old tomato sandwich - especially at the beach (everything is better at the beach).
They can't be a fruit - that just doesn't seem right. Maybe it's a southern thing!
Have a great weekend at LPL Memphis - would love to be there!
Blessings to you and your family,
Georgia Jan
yuck I will always put it in the vegetable category!
and why is bob the tomato on veggie tales? It will never be a fruit! Oh yum can I please have a tomato...it just isn't right.
Knowledge tells us tomatoes are fruit but wisdom tells us not to put them in fruit salad.
