Puddles

I am writing today, but I had to take a quick break to tell you a cute Levi story.

I was driving him to school this morning in the rain. I asked him if he likes the rain. He said yes. I told him I liked the rain because it makes things grow...like the flowers, and the grass, and the trees. To which Levi said, "You forgot something."

"What?" I replied.

"Puddles. You forgot puddles. Jumping in puddles."

Hey, everybody...don't forget the puddles today. Go jump in the puddles. If you have kids, take them out and jump in the puddles with them. I have a feeling they will never forget it.

And your shoes will dry.

That is cute. We need to let the dog out, so I think the girls and I will slip our rain boots on and go jump in the puddles!

Is it strange that my favorite pairs of shoes would be my collection of not one, not two but FOUR PAIRS OF RAINBOOTS?

I own them in hot pink, red, black w/ white polka dots and blue w/ white polka dots.

When I think about them, they make various words spring to mind such as "lovely" "fantastic" and "joyful."

It is, I know, strange.

What about snow piles? Do those count?
I always tell the kids to put the snow down. I guess I will let them throw it today!

Ha ha! Yes, shoes, socks, and pants-they do all dry! :) We do our share of puddle splashing. A few years ago I just decided to lighten up and let em go for it. Sometimes I even join in.

Oh I LOVE little boys!
My youngest son said something very similar a few months ago. I was talking about how beautiful everything looks after the rain and I started to name off everything. My little one said "and look at the big bootiful puddles mommy! Can I go jump in it?!!"
Yes shoes dry and the mud comes out - well mostly - hehe
Blessings,
Kim

We didn't have one snowflake from this freak southern snowstorm...but we received lots of puddles! In fact, our front yard looked a lot like a lake.
I enjoyed crunching ice that was shooting up from the red clay when the temp got down to the low 20's!
No snow but fun anyway...
Levi is a cutie!!

One of my favorite memories is of my oldest daughter splashing in puddles. We lived on a cul-de-sac until she was 18 months old, so for about 6 months we splashed in her first puddles in front of our home. What precious memories!

We took our 1 year old to splash in the puddle at the end of the driveway. He had a blast and so did Daddy.

Amen... Mr. Travis. My teenage, nearly grown girls love to dance in the rain. They have outgrown puddles, but I love to go splashing through a parking lot or yard when a good puddle is in the way... My jeans are usually soaked, but hey! You only live once - let's really soak it up.

When I was about 5 it rained so hard that the dead end street near our house had nearly a river running down it. So one of our older cousins stood at the gate to the culvert and caught us as we had our very own water slide down the street. This was in 1975 and I would say in BIG RED LETTERS: WARNING: Do Not Try This In 2008... we were stupid but having a blast back then.

Blessings.
