Reaping and Sowing

Angela and I had to be at church at 7am yesterday. We sang for all three services at our church. It was a long day, but it was a lot of fun. We love our church, and yesterday was an awesome day.

All that to say, after church, we were exhausted. We came home, had a quick lunch, said goodbye to Angela's family who came in for the weekend, and then set out to relax. I sat on the couch with Lily Kate, because she wanted to take pictures with the Photo Booth on my Mac. Well, after sitting with her for a while, I sort of dozed off. OK, well I guess I full on fell asleep. I woke up an hour or more later and continued on the rest of the afternoon and evening. Later on, after putting the kids to bed, I was on my computer and I started looking through all the pictures Lily Kate took when she was playing (she took over 200 pictures). And then, I got to these jewels...and realized then that my six year-old had been mocking me while I was asleep!!! And she even did it with special effects. Ouch. I'm in trouble.

What is it they say about the apple not falling far from the tree...

That is HILARIOUS!
I've enjoyed you SO much as a worship leader over the last few years (God has truly gifted you) but I love reading your funny blog almost as much! You have a great family and a great sense of humor!

Yikes - tech-savvy kids with a crafty sense of humor. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Recognize the shirt from anywhere? My husband has a closet full of clothes, but goes to his t-shirt section everyday and hollars through the house, "Ang, have you seen my Carolina shirt?" "It's either in the dryer or on the dining room table to be folded," I call back. (Am I the only one who saves up 4 or 5 loads of laudry at one time and then folds them all on the dining room table?) But what I really want to say is, "Have I "SEEN" it? I wash it every day and then I dream that I've forgotten and left it wet in the washer every night. The next chance we get to go to the mall, I'm gonna suggest, "Hey, baby, I'll bet you'd look good in "a" polo...er...I mean THAT polo!" In my mind, I'm gone to Parisian.

Okay -- now this is too funny when Travis writes something and I then I come to see how Angela responded!! I think this tag-team blogging is great!!

Couldn't resist responding because I "accidentally" threw away a grungy pair of UT shorts about a year into our marriage -- I just couldn't take it anymore!!! Enough orange!!

I love it! Isn't it so scary how much these kids can just "figure out"?
Today it's the camera while you're sleeping - what's in store for you? ha!
Can't wait to see!

well i don't know that i'd ever wear a shirt that often, but i have to say that there's no better shirt than a Carolina shirt! Maybe a Carolina polo?

Oh and...you probably already know this, Travis, but that "banjo" from way down on the blog is actually a 6-stringer...aka a guitar-banjo. They do sound very similar. It's just played like a guitar.

Hey Travis,
Love the blog! I was at the LPM conference in Bossier 2 weeks ago, and did a little research prior and found out about you and your music. The conference was nothing short of awesome! I was blown away by Beth and your music. Awesome! Been listening ever since. Kinda feels like that time back in college 15 years ago when I saw U2 and couldn't stop listening to them. (Still haven't)

Back to Bossier....my group was right behind you and the prasie team on Saturday. Several of us talked with your team--so gracious they were. I was actually behind the woman to your right. Don't expect you to remember, as I know good and well that you were focused on other things...:)

One other thing--I notice you list tennis as an interest in your profile. Do you play? I love to play myself....and am a huge fan.

Ellen

PS-"Furthermore" is just the best!

Thanks, everyone, for the kind comments! And, Ellen - I do love tennis - I love to play and I love to follow pro tennis! In fact, I play with some of my praise team often!

Ah Ha!!!! A fellow TJ--Tennis Junkie! Love it! I'm a life-long fan who really got into playing as an adult. I've been playing 11 or so years. Funny thing is that God has come into my playing in the past couple of years as God has come into my life. I am extremely hard on myself in playing, and I have turned to God ro help me get a hold of that. Lately, I have found myself thinking as I am getting ready to serve.." this I do for the glory of GOD." It really has helped me to think this way. REALLY....when I think of it all as a way to praise HIM(even when I stink and don't win), rather than be boastful of my own ailities.

OK. I think I am jumbling this up. Sorry. but, strangely enough, I write as if I have found a new friend.

Hi Travis,
Found your blog through my dear friend Tina's blog. And then I followed a few links to your website and have been listening to your music for the past few hours.....beautiful worship I've been in as I sit here working...thank you!

Please tell Angela hello from Jeanne...her third cousin. :) How many people even know any 3rd cousins, right? It's the kind of family we are from. Her mom and my mom (Julia) are first cousins. And Irene is like a second grandmother to me. You guys have a beautiful family!

Will you guys be coming to the concert for Holding Out Hope on the 20th at FBC Smyrna? If so, I'll look for you so I can say hello. It's going to be a beautiful night of worship with Tina and lots of friends.

I think I may have figured out why I am having trouble with my account, Trav. I won't type much just in case. But I want you to know that you have made my day many times. Lily Kate ... what can a person say. She is so fun. Mary C

Hey Travis, I'm with Russ>>tech-savvy kids with a crafty sense of humor. Be afraid. Be very afraid. << LOL =)

Hey, the reason I stopped by is to thank you. I was at Musical in San Diego on Thursday night and what a great night of worship. I am so thankful that you have surrendered you life to our Lord and allowed Him to use you through music. Your passion and love for our Lord is so evident by your life and the songs for which you sing. I have been having a great time of worship and study this year with your music and Beth Moore's study lessons. Our church here in San Diego used your music from The Lamb has Overcome along with some writings that came from Beth for our Easter services. God's power, grace, mercy, love and redemption flowed through our sanctuary. Many precious souls were saved as we praised and worshipped our risen King! So again I say thank you for surrendering to the call for which Christ has placed on your life! May or Lord richly bless you and your family and keep you ever close to His side!

In Christ service,
Carleene =)

I didn't know you had a blog until I was on Dori's blog and I love your blog! Ok, your daughter is so funny and I love her pictures. Angela, you are not alone with piling laundry up. You are better than me. My laundry doesn't make it out of the laundry room most of the time. I am so bad, I fold the laundry and leave it in the basket. I am not sure why I do that but I do. One of my least favorite things to do. My son works at Chick Fil-A and I washed his uniforms one night and the next morning he was in a rush to get to work and I forgot to dry his clothes.(yikes) He washes his own laundry now. ;)
To the lady that threw away the orange shorts, I am a HUGE U.T. Vol fan and I wear alot of orange and I believe you broke a commandment by throwing his orange shorts away! (just kidding) I have a bathroom painted orange and white with orange and white checkerboard and U.T. footballs everywhere in the bathroom. My front door is orange and I have a concrete pig(a mother's day present years ago) and I painted him orange and white. Yes, to answer your question, I probably need therapy!! I love college football and I am an avid tennis watcher, too. Travis and Angela, you all are my favorite praise team and your music has ministered to me more than you will ever know!! Thank you so much!!!

HILARIOUS!!
My man wears the same Auburn shirt over and over...I can't stand it! I am like dude please dress to impress like you did when we dated!
I had to throw out the "Your girlfriend wants me" T. They wouldn't want him wearing the same shirt like he does now (at least its not a wife beater)! I thought I was the only one. It is so funny how God wires the men and the women!
