The Staycation Is Over

Hey, friends. Our staycation is officially over. And reality is settling back in. We sure did have a great week, though. But one update - we got rained out of going to the water park. As we headed over to that side of town, a torrential downpour hit us. And by the time we got there, even though the rain had subsided a bit, the sign was at the gate. PARK CLOSED TODAY.

Some tears and drama ensued. But we tried to think quickly on our feet...and we headed to Opry Mills mall, where there are some fun things for the kids. They went jumping in those bungee jumping things...not the kind where you jump off a bridge or something....but the kind that you see in malls and other places, and you bounce up and down pretty high. Then we played Glow Golf...which is putt-putt in the dark with glow-in-the-dark things going on. We rode a couple of roller coaster simulators...and even attempted to go to the IMAX movie. But we didn't make the movie.

We ended the day having a great dinner with Angela's former Sunday School teacher, her mentor and our dear friend, Anne Long, who lives over on that side of town.

We filled in the rest of the week with some trips to the YMCA pool. And we ate out a good bit. And we, of course, went to our favorite place...

I will post more later. I have to go start writing charts. I begin recording an Easter musical on Monday. I would be grateful for your prayers!

Have a great weekend...

TC

Sorry you got rained out of the water park but it sounds like you still had lots of family fun this week.

Marble Slab...is that the same as Coldstone Creamery? Because if it is I will shout GLORY!
I do believe I have an idol called Cheesecake Fantasy, so BEWARE of that pit.
Glad y'all had a great staycation.
Now go get busy with all that music that we love. :)

I was shopping in Nashville the day you said you all were going to Nashville Shores and we got rained on and I figured you all probably got rained on to. Sorry about that.

I have been shopping for the Siesta Fiesta trip and I almost convinced myself to go to Opry Mills. I bet Journey to the Center of the Earth would be awesome at I-MAX.
I will cover you in prayer as you work on the Easter musical. I am going to Christ Church this coming week to the music conference, it would hav been cool to have Frydaddy at the conference.
Have a great Sunday.

Hey Travis. Glad you enjoyed some time with your family. BTW, we sang God Is Great in church today. Can I just say I'm so grateful for your music? You do a wonderful job of making modern worship songs highly nuanced and appropriate for worship choir driven ministries. Thanks for what you do.

So glad you guys had such an awesome "staycation"--some of my favorite memories with my family are those just being in the car to travel somewhere nearby and even making adjustments when necessary (even when they include BBQ):) Tell Angela that she and Lily should go see the "Kit" movie (American Girl)--talk about a GREAT one...I think my son would've enjoyed it too...but of course, he said "no, thanks!" Hope you recuperate nicely from your time off....

Blessings,
Tiffani

off topic -

We've driven by Villiage Bapt a couple of times since being in town. Wishing you were here this week instead of next. But so glad you are coming here to minister.

Sit on the beach and read Psalm 24 if you get a chance - especially early in the morning. I have just camped in that passage this week.

We may try a STAY-cation next year. It sounds like y'all had a great time.

Travis, just wanted you to know that you go to church with my daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Brent Jones. On July 25 you are headed to Village Baptist church in Destin, Fl, where my son is the youth minister. This past Sunday he had the opportunity to preach and he challanged everbody to pray every day at 4:02 (James 4;02) a.m. or p.m. for the event and for their church. I know that it will be a spirit filled event and I will pray for that. Say Hi to my son Jared Gregory and his wife Julie and maybe even my very missed grandson Jackson. Thanks for listening to a mom!
