Mid-Week Chart-Writing Procrastination

Hey peeps. Hope your week is good. We are doing well. Our staycation was fun. It left me with two predominant questions:

1. When can we do it again? and...

2. WHEN DOES SCHOOL START??

: >)

I have been a little bit of a bleh blogger lately. I feel the wind gaining in my blogging sails...and have some fun things to blog about in the coming days and weeks.

First, though, I have to finish writing charts for the Easter musical I am in the middle of recording. And by finish writing charts I mean start AND finish writing charts. Something takes over my brain on the week that I am writing the choir charts...and I feel like the lining in my head is covered with melted marshmallows. I am doing my best to crawl out of my funk, and get some work done. I actually love doing it, which is the weird thing...I just have trouble getting motivated at the beginning.

I have not been on the road in a couple of weekends...since the Deeper Still Atlanta weekend in June. I am pumped to get in Living Proof Live gear for our conference in Minneapolis this weekend. Woo hoo! I have missed it these couple of weeks.

Another thing I am excited about: Next weekend, the team and I are doing a concert at Village Baptist Church in Destin, FL. This is an outdoor concert that is part of their VILLAGE OUT LOUD concert series. We are so excited to be there! If you live in the area, or are going to be vacationing close by next Friday night, July 25, please come be with us!

Off to write charts. Or maybe roast marshmallows. I'm suddenly in the mood to roast marshmallows...

My Chris has a motto, rearranged from another motto. Instead of "he does his best work under pressure," Chris likes to say that "he does his ONLY work under pressure." Not only is he a terrible procrastinator, but a marvelous under-pressure thinker and completer. It drives his "planning ahaead" wife a bit crazy, but it's a happy crazy, anyway.

Praying that your pressure-filled week goes marvelously...and praying for your family,
holly

We think we can get our work done and then play...but the work is never done, is it? So, I love the way that you made a staycation work (no pun intended)--- I mean, you really did it well! And your kids will remember those sweet times. I laughed about your ?---with Easter in July and Christmas back in May, how do you know when school starts? You're a good dad Travi!

While we were celebrating our vacation in Destin we actually saw the info on the church billboard. A MONTH EARLIER!

I took my picture standing by your name because I thought it was SO cool.

Nope.

I didn't do that.

I'm not that lame.

:)

Let me tell you that the Village church must be PUMPED to have you coming because your name was already on their sign the first of JUNE!!! We stayed a couple blocks from there and when I drove by the first time I got a little excited because I thought you were going to be there when we were BUT then I read the rest and was totally bummed. Oh well...I will get to worship with you and the team at LPL in L'ville, KY!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

I had a high school English teacher who wanted us to write down this phrase:
"Procrastination is the theif of life."
I thought I would just do it later. That didn't go over so great.

Bless your efforts - I know you'll do great.

Oh, what two things could be better than Travis singing AND the beach! I'm jealous. That is my favorite place in the world. If I can't be there, I'm at least glad you can be. Be sure and eat some chicken salad for me at Callahan's!

I've been reading your blogs since we met at First NLR. Your blogs are always interesting, so don't get too "bleh" with them!

Friend from church here, I had to come out of blogger lurking to tell you that my brother is the Student Pastor at Village. I am so excited you are going and so upset that our vacation to Destin was in June. Have a blast... and give my bro and his sweet fam a hug from me.

I am so excited about Destin. You came to my church a LONG time ago, the first trip was Mission Brewton and then I think you came down for a D-Now weekend. I've been a fan ever since. I even made my husband take me to see you a few years ago for our Valentine's date. Next Friday, I'll be in Destin hopefully with 3 of my girlfriends who also came to love you during Mission Brewton. I look forward to seeing you! Oh, and can I request a song for that night???? I would love to hear "Send It On Down" (I think that's the name, but that was about 10 years ago)

the beautiful thing about roasting marshmallows is you don't need a campfire. just a candle will do. (preferably not scented, but as long as you don't touch the wax, you should be in the clear.) the huge ones with 4 wicks make for a great family roasting experience after dinner. toothpicks work, but i tend to lean towards skewers since they are longer and i often roast while watching tv...not a smart combination. mcdreamy distracts. and fire burns.
i have half a bag left if you need to borrow them. skewers that is. i don't share marshmallows. have i told you about the time i was the chubby bunny champ in the 7th grade? :)

I have the same problem with sermon prep. I have done the study and have been mulling things around in my brain all week, but I'm just know getting it down on paper.

Glad you had a great staycation (and added a new word to my vocabulary).

Blessings,
Todd
