Wahhhhhhhh!

Melinda was voted off American idol. Wrong. Sad and wrong.

Best. Singer. Period. Love her 5 times.

I am crying with you! This is so wrong. I loved Melinda and she was so humble and she has class and I will buy any cd she puts out. I would love to see her produce a gospel cd!! Her career is just beginning and I was wondering what church she goes to? How cool to show her church family.

I will see you next week in Boone!!

I agree with you Travis, but in some ways, I feel Melinda was too big for AI. She is going to have a great career...she may be down but definitely not out!! I have been told she is a believer which just makes her more awesome to me! Her blouse last night said "Death Cheater"! Did you notice? I also loved the fact that on her trip home she made her church one of her stops! I can't wait to see her in the finale with all the top 10...I don't know how they'll top last years' show;it was amazing! Have you ever thought of asking her to sing with you???? Just a thought! Have a great day!!

I agree! Gotta love her Tina Turner like style she flashes out every once in a while...

So I'll confess now, I may have pouted just a little last night. Booh!

Totally agree. Tough to see her go. But there's more to come, I'm sure.

I TOTALLY agree! I am so disappointed! It's now a popularity contest and not based on actual talent. I know she'll do well beyond this, but she deserved to win. Don't even know if I'll watch it next week!

I am so sad also!! She was a humble person and showed the world what modesty looks like. Tasteful!

All the singers this year have an attitude of gratefulness and it makes anyone leaving difficult to see.

I love what Miss Paula said - she is right - all of the singers this year have a real spirit of humility and gratefulness. Even though the finale will be Melinda-less, I will still be happy for whoever wins.

And I will wait with great joy to hear Melinda sing again!

Thanks for all your posts!

Mandisa has such a great blog on this today (http://blog.myspace.com/mandisa). I was shocked too... but Melinda's talent and beauty and character is SO MUCH BIGGER than AI.

Jo,
It was an intense, silent five seconds, but when Melinda was told she was going home me and my sister practically SCREAMED at the television. No I lie, we were screaming for a whole minute. Its sad! But I'll be praying for her on this new adventure God has for her life.
(Didn't you love that scene in her church though, it was Awesome!)

I have voted all along for Melinda. I loved her voice and her personality. I was extremely bummed last night. (Not as badly as last year when Mandisa left!) I know that God has great things for both of these wonderful women. Loved her "Death Cheater" -- a cool way to show her faith. I'll be waiting for whatever she records. I'll bet many prayed for God to lift her up last night. Wish we were going to be in Boone! J & M

I was in shock too. I am so excited to see what God has for her - she is incredible!!

I thought it was neat that on her day to see home and fmaily she made sure to stop by her home church - very cool!

Have a great weekend!

Yeah, unbelievable! It's so frustrating and all about "marketing"!

I do believe she'll come out better in the longrun, though.

I just wanted to say that I read Mandisa's comment on her myspace page about Melinda and she was so right. Melinda didn't go out of the competition because of votes, judges comments , she went out when God wanted her to! So true, I love how God directs our steps and no one can stop his plans and purposes in our lives. We serve an amazing God!

Have a great weekend Travis and Angela.

I am counting down the days until God uses you to deliver a mighty message to me through song! God permitting, I will be in BOONE this Friday, and I am expecting God to show up in a mighty way! Is it too odd to request a song? Okay, maybe it is, but I am going to try anyway! I heard you sing "How Great Is Our God" once before, and I am telling you it was a life-changing moment! There is something awesome about hearing an arena full of women (and men) singing that song from the depths of their souls! Please, Travis, sing that one for this Prestonsburg, Kentucky lady one more time!
