Louisiana with a banjo on my knee

I am in Louisiana right now for a Living Proof Live with Beth Moore. We got here early this morning, did our sound check, headed to lunch, and are now resting and getting ready for tonight. It has been a full but great day so far.

My sister Kathy is a music teacher. And she has a song reference for everything. I mean EVERYTHING. So she texted me last night to ask me if I was headed to Louisiana with a banjo on my knee.

"Uh, Kathy, that would be Alabama. 'Gone to ALABAMA with a banjo on my knee.' "

"Oh, yeah. I guess you're right. Tee hee hee."

So we are here. In LOUISIANA. No banjos. Nothing on our knees. But we are ready for a great time tonight telling Jesus how much we love Him.

Travis,
I just left the conference in Bossier City and wanted you to know that I think your music is AWESOME. I was really blessed my all of the songs. Thank you. I was thrilled to know that you and your band were still w/ Beth. I first heard you about 8 years ago when I saw Beth in Pensacola. Keep up the great work.

I was 1 of the 14,000 stones in the sanctuary for God Friday night and Saturday (CenturyTel in Louisianna). All I can say is that Travis Cottrell and his praise team, as well as Beth Moore are *a*m*a*z*i*n*g! What a blessed weekend!!! Cheryl, Fellowship Church, Grapevine, TX

Thanks for the encouraging words! We had an awesome time in Bossier City. We just got home, and are exhausted, but full of joy for the great weekend. Thus far, the Lord has helped us!

Travis,
Thanks so much to you and your team for leading us to the throne in worship this weekend in Bossier City. You inspire me so much to see how you use your talents to honor the Lord. Keep on being "dangerous"!

I was at the conference in Bossier and at the one in Tyler. The music is completely awesome! I have never experienced anything that before. I bought a CD and have not stopped listening to it since we got home:) I have a question though...there is a song that I fell in love with at both of those conferences and it is not on the CD and I don't know the name of it. Is there any way that someone could let me know what songs were performed so I can track it down???

Thanks!

Hey Trav. Mary here. I'm going to try to leave a comment by being Anonomous. My google account has gotten so messed up that I'm locked out. So much for getting into the blogging world. Hope Lousianna was great. Jim is getting better day by day. This one will take a while.

Wow -- I just saw the note that my comment has been saved and will be visible after the blog owner has approved. I so enjoy a LP event. I could be a junkie if they were closer. I love being part of a group of worshippers and hearing the WORD preached (and we sure know that Miss Beth can do that). Also wanted you to know that our praise team is singing the Crown Him medley from one of your CD's (can't remember which one). Blessings. Mary C

Travis,
I just wanted to say that you guys just get better and better over the years. I have had the awesome honor and pleasure to hear you guys at conferences 3 times in the past 2 years. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to be away from your families so many days a year. I do thank them from my heart for sharing you all with us. It is so obvious that all of you love the Lord each time you sing. Each time I attend one of Beth's conferences, I come away closer to Christ and with a new song in my heart. I thank God for the talent and the desire to serve Him that you and the whole praise team use at each and every conference.
Thanks again for coming to Louisiana!

Travis,
Thank you, thank you, thank you...for leading us right up to the throne of the King this weekend. This was my first time to worship with you and I think what I appreciated the very most about this weekend (and I have lot to choose from!) is that both you and Beth sought to focus every second of our attention not on yourselves, but on the only One worthy of worship. My heart is still full to overflowing and I haven't been able to get the songs we sang this weekend out of my head since we left the arena....and that's a good thing. I guess you could say that even though the conference ended, the praise and worship keeps on going. Now that I "know" you, I'll certainly be praying for you, your family and your ministry.

Thank you so much,

Amy

Thank you all so much for your encouragement! I cannot even begin to tell you what an honor it is for me to be able to serve you all in the area of worship at these events. To say I am thankful for this calling is such an understatement. I want nothing more than to live my life pointing people to Jesus. Thank you!

I was at the Louisianna conference. I had heard the name Travis Cottrell, but didn't know his music. Wow! His voice is incredibly perfect. He's cute too. And his family picture is awesome. I'm a new fan - for life!!
