Ben Taylor.

He's James Taylor and Carly Simon's son. Great voice. Very mellow. Great music for when I need something different.

Currently it's Shane and Shane's newest release (an excellent choice if you like Shane and Shane) and Paul Baloche's "The Writer's Collection."

If you like a capella, Tonic Sol-Fa is really fabulous. Rockapella's fun too, and their song A Change in My Life is amazing.

If you want some killer hammered dulcimer music, my dad's one of the best there is! :) That's about as folksy as it gets.

I can tell you what I just got in the mail that is UNBELIEVABLE!!!! It's a little thing I like to call "Run to the Cross."

I also like David Nevue for instrumental.
Beau Soir - harp and flute and very beautiful!
First Glory Revealed album (I haven't gotten the second one yet)for a little bit of folky praise music.
Also "The most relaxing piano music ever" album - sounds cheesy, but it's good stuff.

And the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack is great.

Sufjan Stevens

Sara Groves new cd

And I would be remiss if I didn't offer up a couple of my friends:

For solo piano - Keith Martinson

And a good friend of mine who just went through a year of lymphoma (and is now cancer-free PRAISE GOD), Tony Pitschka.

I'll break out the Christmas music in a few weeks, and alternate between your Christmas cd and Sara Groves' for the most part.

Enjoyed reading all the comments. I am sure most of what I listen to you already sing BUT when it comes to bluegrass I love to listen to Alison Krauss & Union Station, unbelieveable musicianship.

There's a new song out by Addison Road that absolutely blows me away... "What do I know of Holy".

Michael Buble - Crazy Love. Love the "Bond" themes.
Lenny Leblanc - Christmas Night.
Mingo Fishtrap - Succotash or Yesterday. Funk with a little New Orleans flavor. Very tasty!

A couple of people already beat me to the David Nevue recommendation.

Another instrumental duo that I just LOVE is Rodrigo y Gabriela. They just put out a new album that I don't have yet but their self-title CD is amazing. They're from Mexico but live in Ireland. Their music is a fusion of Mexican and Irish flok styles but they do a cover of Metallica's Orion that will blow you away. They're as much to watch as they are to listen to. Search them on YouTube so youcan watch them play.

I have found two wonderful series of CDs produced by the RBC ministries. (Radio Bible Class ministries used to produce this show called Day of Discovery that my mom used to love to watch on Sunday morning before church.) One series is "Our Daily Bread" and the one is "Classical Praise." There are at least 10 volumes in each series. They are all basically hymn arrangements, both old and contemporary hymns, so as much as you like hymns you should really enjoy these. They are all instrumental. There are many styles of music in each series.

I got them from my Mom. The cover says that the purpose is to provide music to be used in personal devotional times of worship. I believe there must be a lot of prayer behind this music. I started listening to them during my quiet time and I think God has spoken to me through every one. You can get them through the website, RBC/Discovery Hourse website, and I even found some listed on Amazon.

Lovin' Michael Buble's new CD...

and I think you'll like a relatively obscure girl named Haley Dykes...her Dad is Doyle Dykes with Taylor guitars...she's got that folksy/bluesy feel but such a sweet spirit in her voice/lyrics...they also do instrumental too...

I am still loving your Jesus Saves album which I bought as soon as I got home from the Green Bay simulcast! But since you want other suggestions, here are some other faves in my iPod:

Instrumentals - I am a 'piano girl', so I love David Lanz's music. With Christmas just around the corner, be sure to check out his version of "O Come O Come Emmanuel"! It's a great instrumental, even if it's not Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas - ya gotta hear Todd Agnew's rendition of "Do You Hear What I Hear".

Check them out!

Israel Houghton and New Breed's Christmas music, particularly Christmas Medley.

My favorite movie soundtracks are by John Barry. 'Out of Africa' and 'High Road to China' are my favorites. They never get old.

And I love to listen to Bill Evans playing the piano. I have the JazzMasters dvd series and he is just fascinating to watch also.

Good instrumental music that I love is a guy by the name of David Benoit. Very laid back, very easy to listen to - Fuzzy Logic, Professional Dreamer both great CD's.

Ok , so it's not folk music but John Mayer -Where the Light Is, Keith Urban - Defying Gravity,
Leeland - Love is on the Move,
Israel and New Breed - The Power of One and just got the new Switchfoot CD - incredibly good...

My favorite is: "Christmas Sax" by Sam Levine. Very beautifully arranged. So tranquil.

Kind of a weird choice, but the "Twilight" movie soundtrack. I like it in the car and when I am cleaning my house.

My favorite new CD is Paul Cardall's "Sacred Piano". I have always enjoyed his music, and I am so glad he is able to compose and perform again! Praise God for his recovery. (see his blog at www.mytricuspidatresia.blogspot.com)

Michael Buble's Christmas EP. Brandi Carlisle. Adele. Christy Nockel's new solo album. Brooke Fraser. The song "I will Exalt You" off the new Hillsong album Faith Hope Love takes me straight to the throne. Colbie Callait's first record called "Coco" is one of the best overall records to come out in a long time. Her voice is soothing like Karen Carpenter and her songs are so simple and sweet. Those are my faves at the moment!

Funny you ask... I'm actually listening to your CD's! I find that when I really need to focus my eyes on the Lord and listen to Him, particularly In Christ Alone/The Solid Rock from your Alive Forever CD. Missed you at Ridgecrest this year! ~ Kristina in NC

I just downloaded 3 new songs yesterday on Itunes. One is off of Carrie Underwood's new album called "Undo It." Then the other two are new songs I heard on Air1 - Garbage In by Tal & Acacia and Safe In Your Arms by Abandon.

Have to second the Todd Agnew comment. However, don't miss "Did You Know?", "God With Us", "God With Us" oh heck the whole CD is amazing. (Travis, you should take on "Did You Know?"). On another not-so-well-traveled-path, have you listened to Gregory Alan Isakov's This Empty Northern Hemisphere or Meg Hutchinson's Come up Empty?
