Gavin

I need to share some sad news with you. Do you remember when I posted about my friend Adam's baby boy, who was battling Mitochondrial disease? Well, their sweet three-and-a-half boy Gavin went to be with Jesus this past Sunday. Please be praying for Adam and Karen and their little girl Madison. You can find out more about Gavin, as well as plans for their service this Sunday to celebrate Gavin's life and ultimate healing at Gavin's website.

God bless you, Owens family.

This broke my heart!!! My daughter only lived for 30 minutes so I can't even imagine losing Gavin. I am praying for that precious family!

Also, I am praying for you and your family. I just saw your schedule and I have no idea how you do it! Only God!!

So sorry to hear this. I prayed for this family when you posted originally and have tried to keep up with them, but had not checked in for the past month or so. Praying for them.

So sorry for the Owens family. Their story really spoke to me and I have and will continue to pray for them. I too have a son with special needs, but not nearly as serious as Gavins needs were. Adam and Karen are so inspiring to me.

I had seen Gavin's blog from the blog of another family whose little boy has mitochondrial disease (Nathan at http://lifewiththeferrells.blogspot.com/) - also a very sweet Christian family. I prayed for Gavin's family the last few days of his life- how awful for them, but I'm glad Gavin is fully healed now.

I just found out today. How can I say this without sounding strange?

I feel so happy for Gavin.

No more tubes, tests or pokes and surgeries.

But I miss him. He was a cutiepie and a warrior all mixed into a 3 year old baby's body. Madison has been heavy on my heart since I found out. And the parents, but especially Madison.

I will definitely keep praying for them. I had lost touch after they went to Disney and had prayed so hard for him. God has some golden rewards for this family. Gavin and his blog has touched many lives.
