Heading To Haiti

Hey, friends. I hope all is well. It is quiet at my house right now. My family is at church. I am home packing for a big trip tomorrow. I am heading to Haiti with Compassion International. I am so very excited to be going on this trip! It is an artists' trip, not a bloggers' trip. But I do hope to be able to write a little bit while I am there. I will let you know how it's going. I am going to have the privilege of meeting one of the kids that my family sponsors, and I CAN'T WAIT.

I would be really thankful for your prayers for my family while I am away.

I am so excited to have this special ministry privilege. And I am going to do my best to not ask if they get American Idol In Haiti.

My very best.

I'll be praying for you and your family. How cool to meet one of "your" kids!! We sponsor a couple of kids and that would be the coolest - to love on 'em up close!!
Blessings!!

Oh - where in the world (as in world wide web) can I find the lyrics for Forevermore. I downloaded the performance track on itunes for my guy to sing next week, but don't know where the lyrics are.

Oh WOW...meeting your sponsored child. Well, that's just downright awesome!!

I live in the prehistoric age and don't have DVR but surely you do?! So, you can watch it when you return?!

I'll be praying for an exciting, Spirit-filled, trip!! And, for your family while you're away!!

I have a friend who is a music missionary in the interior of Hati. Her name is Dawn Goodwin. I know that there is such poverty there but Dawn is also happy there.

Praying for you to have a wonderful trip. From what Dawn says the people she ministers to love to sing. You should have a wonderful time singing with them.

Our family will be praying for you while you are in Haiti. My husband goes there one or two times a year to minister to those precious people. Our dear friends are moving there in June as full time missionaries. God is at work in Haiti.
(And I think I can safely say you won't be seeing any AI this week in Haiti!)

Oh - wow. I will be anxious to hear about your trip and see your pictures. I, too, sponsor a child in Haiti through Compassion. Her name is Garline.
I bet you will have a moment of a lifetime meeting your child.

Travis - May God bless you with safe travel and a great trip. My husband and I just signed up to sponsor a little boy in Colombia, and we are so excited. Compassion International is an awesome organization!

I signed up for our Compassion child while at your live recording at FBC Woodstock back at the end of January - so this blog post is special indeed!

I pray God's blessings and peace over your wife and children and home while you are away.

Singing His Praises,
Georgia Jan

Hope you have a safe and Blessed trip! We began sponsoring a child through Compassion in December and it is such a Blessing to our family. I can't imagine actually being able to meet him. I was showing one of my co-workers the Compassion website and she wants to also sponsor a child. Remember to take lots of pics to share when you get back home.

Oh, my our God is awesome. After church yesterday, my husband and I were talking and he mentioned watching a program on TBN about Haiti and that he was going to send some money for ministry. Now we can add prayer to our list. We will be praying for you.

Will definitely be praying. And totally fun to be meeting one of your "extended" family members. Hope you get to take lots of awesome pics to share :-) hint, hint.
And guess you need to ask everyone to keep a lid on anything that develops on American Idol so you can watch it "fresh" when you get home.

It is so awesome to be given the platform to minister to people around the world. They will be so blessed by you....but I am sure not as blessed as you will be by them...it always seems to work that way!

Praying for you
and your precious family at home carrying you through this in their hearts...it's a sacrifice.
So can't wait to see the photos...
my 17-year-old will see poverty like you are seeing ... he leaves on spring break to do mission work in Thailand...he did popcorn fundraisers and stuff and is bringing about $1,400 of gifts and love with him to this 1040 window. So touched by your tender compassion to Haiti.

Travis, I just sent you an email about booking you at Hickory Christian Academy. Our Headmaster goes to Haiti twice each year on mission trips. My family just sponsored a child from Haiti at Shaun's concert. How awesome that you got to go meet one of the kids you are sponsoring! God Bless!
