A Quick Checking In

Hey, friends. Just checking in for a quick second. I am in the middle of a crazybusy two weeks. So much to do to get ready for the live recording next Sunday night at FBC Woodstock. I hope you can make it if you're close by.

Of course, even in this crazy busy time, you know what I am sitting here doing? Yes. And this is my conclusion: a bad mullet with a cowboy hat will guarantee you some FACETIME on American Idol.

Also: the guys are killing it tonight. Awesome. How about that NC dude, Anoop? Woah. KILLER VOICE. And the band director, Asa - awesome. And the guy whose wife passed away...he has a great voice. And Casey, who sang the Vanessa Carlton song was my favorite girl. Oh, and Lil Rounds. She was great, too.

Must. Turn. It. Off. and get some stuff done. Hope you are well.

Travis,

What are the people singing in the background of
"Ring the Bells"? My husband and I listen to your music EVERY morning as we drink coffee, and vegitate on the day ahead....Jyme and Steve Parish, Texarkana...Texas, that is!

Yay! I *knew* you'd be back in blogland for AI!

Ahh, just give in to the obsession. I decided to start an "official discussion" about AI on my blog--that way it becomes my DUTY to watch the show.

Travis,
Not sure if my last comment got lost in neverland. What a funny story about the left clothes and the resulting Crystal Cathedral Clothing Conundrum. Funny to be stuck in Cal without the intended clothes. I am liking the song "This Is the Day." I love to hear songs like that over and over and let the words sink in an minister to me. I think I have just the tenor to do it with my choir if I can get that together. It would not be me. I am wondering if you know a friend of mine from Belmont: Amy Holt. She was a music student there (second masters) maybe the same years as you. She worked as a missionary teaching voice in Brazil for time too. I got to play for her years ago. I wish I could come to Woodstock -- it's just three hours away. Alas, I have church/work that day.

My favorite was the guy whose wife passed away. I love gravelly voices like his. Also, did you see the blind guy Tues. night? His story made me cry, and he had an ahhhhmazing voice! Woo hoo, bring on some more!

Travis,
I'm praying for you to have a wonderful time next Sunday in Woodstock. I honestly considered flying in for it (from Washington state, no less!) because I have a dear friend that lives in the area, but I just can't swing it. I will have to wait for LPL in Portland in April. My daughter and I are so blessed by your music. Take care!

okay, totally pumped about the 25th in Woodstock. But also as a newish fan of your music I'm totally scared about this. should I be learning all your songs so I don't embarass you as the one person in the audience that doesn't know it all by heart? or will you be teaching stuff that is new to us all?

also my hubby is a big fan as well, it is okay for him to come along, right?

I'm thinking we now have a small band of ladies going to Woodstock next Sunday--pray for a safe hotel at a good rate. I originally wanted to go as a "date weekend" in Atl. w/ my hubby (and therefore get a cheaper, though not necessarily as safe, hotel), but we haven't been able to swing that. Anyhoo....we're so exciting about praising the King w/ you guys!

I pray that your week is a restful and healthy and low-stress one! :)
