Feelin' Fine in 2009

Hey, blog friends. I hope you all have had a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year's. We have had a great break. Our sleep clocks are about as regular as the weather this month. But we are doing well anyway. It's not going to be pretty those first couple of school days next week, though...

Angela is out tonight...gone to a church function with a couple of girlfriends. Lily Kate is spending the night with a friend. So it's just me and the boys. There has been much wallering (our word for wrestling), football, Hot Tamales, and strange body noises (them, not me). I finally wrestled them down for the night. And I was coming to my computer to work on music charts for my upcoming project (all of which are due to be finished by Monday). But my buddy Cameron took me to task for being a delinquent blogger. And I have been. But after the tour, my brain turned off. And by 'turned off' I mean TURNED OFF. But I am back into the world of people who do more than breathe and eat and grunt when they can't find the remote. I have been heavy into writing this week (songs, not blogs :-) ), which has been invigorating and fun. I am more energized by this upcoming project than any other project I have ever done. More details about that to come...

I was going to blog my "Best of 2008." But then I relized I have only seen about 3 movies (all kids' movies), bought about 4 CD's, and watched 3 TV shows all year. So I didn't feel very inspired to rank them. 2008 was a great year, though. And I will definitely have some thoughts to share about it...once I get these charts written.

Here are some Christmas pics from our travels...

The kids with my dad...they call him Cuz...

Angela with my sister-in-law Kathy, my sister Kathy (I know. 2 Kathy's. We are just glad their name isn't Darrell), and my sister Vickie...

My dad singing "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" with my sister Kathy playing...

Making cookies with my niece Molly...

And these are the cookies that the kids iced. Can you tell?

My brother David and sister Vickie...

My very own hot tamale...

Happy New Year!

So where are you going to find an extra pair of 3D glasses so you can watch the Hannah Montana concert with your daughter? You know you want to.

Thump.

Hope to come see you in Woodstock in January (my friend Pat Walker sings there at the church)!

Love the pics! Esp. the one of you and Angela. Esp. Angela's half of the pic. :)

Your Christmas CD was the Music of Choice on our 10-day Zoo Trip to Florida between Christmas and New Year's. We don't usually listen to the whole CD though. My 2-year-old's most-requested songs (in order):

1. Rejoice! (aka, The Day Scream Song)

2. Frosty the Snowman

3. Travix and Natalie

Travis,

It is rumored that you have one of our very own local boys that plays in your band. Could it be true?? Brandon Hood. I had no idea until his mom, who works with my sister, told us that she was headed to Woodstock to see ya'll. I've known his family FOREVER, although he is wayyyyy younger than me.

Wish I could be at Woodstock, but I'm returning from a speaking engagement in FL that day!

I just LOVED that you posted that precious picture of the cookies made by little teeny hands that someday will wear a ring (we just got our senior ring over here). You are letting them be kids and you are enjoying them and passing on your life. It's a beautiful heart you are passing on to your kids - Deut 6:6 - as you make killer cookies.
