1. I love Wednesdays. One reason I love them is because I love band practice and choir practice at church. Wednesdays are good. That's all.
2. Yesterday was no exception, although I did have to go to two places that aren't exactly bucket list places on any given Wednesday. I had to take my car to the garage (although that wasn't so bad, because I got some unplanned visit time with a buddy and some biscuits and gravy at Mrs. Winners beside the garage). And I also had to take an unexpected trip to the doctor. As we were talking and eating our (very delicious) biscuits and gravy, I began to have a pain in my left ear that rendered me unable to talk or even move my head. My buddy said he watched my countenance change as my eyes began look like a dude who was in pain. And I was. I tried to pull my ear off because I thought I was dying, but it wouldn't come off. So I called an ENT and they were able to see me right away. It wasn't an infection...it was one of a couple of things...still not quite sure. But I loved this doctor and am thankful for the treatment and diagnosis he gave me.
Since I know you're wondering, I was indeed able to finish my biscuits and gravy.
3. It's amazing to me how easily the weather can affect my mood. Seriously, this time of year makes me crazy with happiness.
4. Speaking of crazy with happiness, I'm heading to Boston tonight for our Living Proof conference this weekend. I don't think I've ever been to Boston. I can't wait! Boston in the fall...isn't there a song about it?
Anybody out there coming to LPL Boston this weekend?
I just checked the weather for Boston tomorrow: high of 71. I fear I may embarrass my loved ones with my giddiness at some point today. Or tomorrow. Or any day, really.
5. Spirit Week at my kids' school this week. Monday was 80's Day (which, according to my iPod, is any day).
Who are these children who are ready to mug for the camera so early in the morning??? Their mother's influence, obviously. :-)
6. Here's a good word for us all today:
Psalm 25:9 - He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way.
Oh Lord, lead us today. We trust in YOU.

That would be the VeggieTales song, The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything. That's the song which talks about Boston in the fall. :)
I will see you Friday night and Saturday in Lowell, MA. Fortunately the temps have been great and so has the foliage. Leaves are changing to all kinds of colors. Unfortunately Friday is predicted to have heavy rain. Regardless I am as excited to see LPL and you and your worship team as you are to come here. It's been a long wait. 12 of us are coming from my church. I hope you have opportunities to take in some of the New England charm while you are here. And if you are here on Sunday, come up to Manchester, NH--just 1/2 hour from the conference, for a wonderful service at my home church. I'd even welcome you for dinner.
Your daughter rocked her 80's hair! Hope your ear thing clears up soon =)
Haven't you seen the offerings at the mall lately? Every day is 80's day for kids in this generation! I saw a teenage girl at church last week with a side ponytail! I think it is hilarious to see the tweens/teens today looking exactly like I looked when I was a tween/teen in the 80s and thinking that they are "hip" and "cutting-edge." Ha!
I am so excited to be heading into Boston tomorrow! Cannot WAIT to see you and Beth at LPL. We've been looking forward to it for over six months, I think!
Praying for your ear (ok, so that sounds strange). Praying for you. Much better.
Great to hear from you. Thanks for the update!

So glad you were able to finish your biscuits and gravy :)
The pictures are precious....how fun to have an '80's day!!
LOVING the book, thanks :)
I can hear Barry now...
"Time in New England took me away. To long rocky beaches and you by the bay. We started a story whose end must now wait..."
Awesome pics of '80's style! That was definately the decade. I am a proud graduate of 1983. Leggings are coming back I hear, however I will pass them up this go 'round! I have only had the pleasure of "seeing" you and Beth on simulcasts, however you do a great job of including us in your worship time where we feel so a part of the whole experience. God has truly gifted you and I thank you for being obedient to Him, so we can enjoy your voice and be included in your worship time. Looking forward to getting your book. Fall is my favorite time also, I usually try to get to Blowing Rock, NC (hear you are from Boone) this month, to see how God has painted the mountains. Have fun in Boston! Blessings to you and your family.
yup. pirates who don't do anything.
And fall weather makes me very happy too.
As an Alabama native living in Boston, I am thrilled that y'all made the trip up here to Lowell. I'm also happy to get a good dose of "Southern" and no translation was needed ;)
I have found a great SBC in New England, New Colony Baptist in Billerica, so I get a little dose of Southern every Sunday. Looking forward to worship early this Saturday morning! In Christ, Kimberly
Travis - Thank you for an awesome weekend. Me and my Sisters were blessed. Your team is wonderful! Thank you for all you do! The weekend was a "treasure" for all!

I've gotta say that I was thinking the exact same thing Selah was as I read about 80's day. Having a 10yro daughter myself I fear I'm neck deep in the 80's fashion again. Lol I too will not be wearing leggins or leg warmers anytime soon! Hope your ear is healed or healing. Have a great rest of the week & weekend!
