Random Stuff

Hey, everybody. Hope your week has been good. All is well at the Cottrell house. Remember how I talked last week about how since all of the kids are in school now, I feel like all these missing hours were poured back into my days? Well...a friend of mine yesterday told me that it was kind of like buying a new house. You have all this new space, and you think you will never fill it all up. But after living there for a couple of months, you realize that you filled it up without even noticing.

That's what has happened to my days. Mostly. But it's all good. Today I never actually left the house after taking the kids to school...until 4:00. That is some kind of record for me. I cleaned my office...and actually found my way to the surface of my desk. Rock on.

Thanks for your prayers for Levi. He is back to normal. His neck is not swollen anymore. The doctors don't really know exactly what it was, but they have watched it and are still watching it carefully, and are not alarmed. And he is pretty much fully recovered from his surgery. Occasionally he will say, "Daddy! Don't squeeze me so tight! My STITCHES!" But I think he is just tired of my squeezes...and not so much in any squeeze pain.

All you middle Tennessee friends...I have a concert in Mt. Juliet this Sunday night, September 21, at Gladeville Baptist Church at 7pm. Their awesome choir and band will be joining Julie, Angela, Seth and myself for a night of worship. This is a worshipping church, and we can't wait for Sunday night. The concert is free. I hope you will join us.

We are heading to Billings, Montana in the morning. We have a Living Proof Live event there this Friday and Saturday. I am going in a day early to do some local ministry. We would all appreciate your prayers for this busy weekend.

That's all for now. I hope to write more in the next day or two about the exciting thing that's going on here. Take care!

TC

So--it's 1 a.m. here in South Georgia--right downtown here at our old house in the Historical District...anyway, I just thought I'd check the TCM blog before I head off to bed (because we have two kids who are NOT in school yet and the only hours I get to do anything "just because I want to" are between like 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.--the rest of the day is already full!) Okay--back to my story--I also ramble late at night...anyway, I've checked your blog and I've seen that you finally posted something again (YAY!)--not that I can complain...I haven't posted to my blog in ages....anyway, I've read your nice blog post, and at the end, I clicked the "here" link to go back to the Freedom Bell page.

I've already seen the Freedom Bell page like 100 times as I've been trying to check your blog...and I guess I don't usually leave it up very long...I quickly click to go to your normal homepage and then your blog (maybe because I've been checking during daylight hours when I'm really rushing?)...but TONIGHT I left the Freedom Bell page up and read it for a little bit...that's what I was doing when: all of a sudden, I hear this really spooky noise...it sounds like someone is rattling windchimes out on my front porch (which is like 6 feet away, through the office window, from the desk where I'm sitting). I KNOW we don't have windchimes...so, great! Now that my whole family is asleep and they're all gonna wake up in a panic and stay up half the night if I scream "Chad, could you please come here quickly...with your gun?" (I've actually had to do that before--we do live right downtown). Then...hallelujah! I realize that our computer speakers have fallen off the desk and are lying on the floor (that happens sometimes with a three-year-old in the house)...and I'm actually hearing the "intro" for your "Hark the Herald Angels...."--MAN, my stomach was in knots there for a minute!
So, thanks Travis, for the late night scare! :) May your days be merry and bright! And yes, a little "randomness" is alright!

Glad to hear about your son doing better. Praying for you this weekend in "Big Sky" country. The clip from your new Christmas album is great, and I love the cover! Very nice! When does the thing hit the stores?
Glad to hear all is well-
Have a great weekend!

Hey Travis,

This "St. Louis" girl had actually entertained the idea of driving to the Nashville area and heading to Gladeville for worship on Sunday evening (and I bet you could get me in there, right? lol).

Unfortunately my sabbatical presentation for our faculty was moved from mid-November to next Wednesday. Yikes!! I've been scrambling ever since, trying to put together all my stuff. Argh!!

One of these days our schedules and availability are going to match. Just hope it's in this world sometime.

Take care. Safe travel.

Much love,
~Cheryl

1- Praying that our great big God meets each participant in a staggering way this weekend in Montana.

2- I am THRILLED beyond words about your Christmas album...I already listen to Christmas music year-round, much to the dismay of friends and family. Consider your CD added to that mix.

I am so excited that you are having a concert in Mt. Juliet.

I will come to the concert. M'boro is not that far from Mt. Juliet. How fun. :)

I wonder if you would bring me a Christmas CD so I can do a giveaway on the Siesta blog? Never hurts to ask. :)

See ya'll Sunday!!
