Vegetables

Of course Combos don't count as a vegetable.

That's why we stopped at Burger King on the way home and got some onion rings.

  1. Better than Funyuns. I just have to say that I threw up once after eating Combos, still makes me gag just seeing the bag like 15 years later.

  2. Oh my gosh - I just spit my drink because that made me laugh of surprise!!

Oh it was always SO fun at our house when mom was away! :)

  3. Something about these two blog posts reminds me of that old Bill Cosby routine where he feeds his children chocolate cake for breakfast because cake has "eggs and flour and milk..."

Somehow I believe Angela will understand!

  4. I'll sleep better knowing they had their veggies...could have been fries too...or how about a strawberry shake...that could be a good stand in for your fruit quota...I really can not say too much because when I get away, my husband makes his ONE dish...and it is very scary...it is called...don't judge us...weenies chili and cheese. My Lord, it is like a heartattack in a baking dish...it is very scary...BUT THEY LOVE IT!!!!!

  6. You are going to have those kid spoiled rotten by the time Angela gets home.

  7. Just have them brush their teeth really good every day and you're home free.

    Maybe.

  8. Angela will never stand for a shoddy reasoning. There's a BK 2 miles from the church -- the opposite direction from your house -- and one 2 miles past your house the other way. Sounds like Daddy just needed some 'rangs! You're busted.

  9. Well, at least the Ketchup counts, right?

As a mom I have to say there's nothin' better for the kids than time with "Fun-Dad."

I love D.C. I hope she has a wonderful time!

  10. "Dad is Great! Gives us Chocolate Cake!" Go on with your bad self, Mr. Cosby. :)

Praying for Angela, as she travels home.

  12. Well, all I can say is at least you know the difference! You sound so secure, confident, dare-I-say it, Cocky? Oh ye of little faith, I am sure those darling little angels of yours will put you in your place! Remember, some one must pay the price for niceness, better cooking, snacks, etc. Now is your time, today is the day! Good luck friend, you are going to need it!

  16. Do you have Red Robins in TN? They have onion straws. Absolutely delicious. Salty and greasy. We eat them as an appetizer, even when we're trying to be good. We follow it with an asian chicken salad to make up for it.

  20. BTW, Travis...cheese puffs are considered a veggie. They are orange...like carrots and they are crunchy like them too.
If all else fails, make brownies for supper. That will definitely get you the 'nicest' award.

  21. Ha! I just stumbled across your blog and got a good kick out of this... reading your blog (as I am starting to do) will probably answer this question, but you travel with your kids? I ask because my husband, Shawn, does music full time and we are trying to figure out how we (myself & our 17 month old son) can start traveling with him without pulling our hair out! I know you are probably really busy, but any advice would be welcomed!

  24. Travis - Remember french fries are from potatoes - a great vegetable! I know you are having a blessed time with the kids - and I also know you are so appreciating Angela and all she does! :-)
